Terms of Service
Effective: March 22, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of all DockLabs applications and services, including Beacon, Harbor, Manifest, Bounty, Lookout, Admiralty, and the Keel platform (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Personal Project Disclaimer
DockLabs is a personal project developed by Daniel O'Keefe. The Services are not developed, endorsed, or supported by any government agency or employer. No state, federal, or municipal resources are used in the development or operation of these Services.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not:
- Use the Services to violate any applicable law or regulation
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services or related systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services
- Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Services without authorization
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
- Impersonate any person or entity
3. Accounts and Access
Access to the Services may require authentication via Microsoft Entra ID single sign-on (SSO) or other methods configured by your organization. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
4. Your Data
You retain ownership of all data you create, upload, or manage through the Services. We claim no intellectual property rights over your content. Your data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
5. AI-Powered Features
Several Services incorporate AI features powered by Claude (Anthropic). These features provide decision-support outputs such as grant matching scores, legislative impact assessments, FOIA review recommendations, and document analysis. AI outputs are advisory only and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for decisions. You are responsible for reviewing and validating all AI-generated results.
6. Government Users
If you use the Services in a government capacity, you acknowledge that:
- Data stored in the Services may be subject to FOIA, state public records laws, or other disclosure requirements
- You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with applicable government policies, including records retention and data classification requirements
- The Services include audit logging and retention tools to assist with compliance, but compliance responsibility rests with your organization
7. Service Availability
The Services are provided on an "as available" basis. As a personal project, we do not guarantee specific uptime, response times, or service level agreements. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time with reasonable notice when practicable.
8. Intellectual Property
The Services and their underlying source code, design, and documentation are the property of Daniel O'Keefe. Select components are available as open-source software under their respective licenses on GitHub. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use the DockLabs name, logo, or branding.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DockLabs and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or use, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services. The Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Daniel O'Keefe and DockLabs from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Services or violation of these Terms.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Services or via email to registered users. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maine, without regard to conflict of law principles.
